“Look for the woman in the dress. If there is no woman, there is no dress.”
Today at Bloomingdale's, I purchased a somewhat short and voluminous new dress for no reason at all. I'm hoping I'll get invited to some formal dance or party where I can wear it to. But if not I'll appreciate just having it in my closet. Sometimes I treat clothes like I treat antiques I just want them, because they're incredibly fabulous or unusual not because they're useful.

sydney eloise ward
My good friend sydney is an amazing singer-songwriter. Her sound is soulful, sweet, and simple. Her new song "Smell of Cinnamon" is something different for the holidays. Her hippiesque style and confidence in her music is encouraging. Whatever I decide to do with my life, I hope I am confident and happy with my choice of career as she is with hers. That's the feeling I get when I listen to her music.

oui vous m'inspirez
When I find things that inspire me I don't know exactly why they inspire me. Sometimes I'm just inspired to be more of something...it may to be more creative, more rebellious, or more bold. And other times it's an inspiration to be more caring, more independent, more brave. Whatever this overlapping feeling is, I know it as soon as it happens, as soon as I see an excellent photograph, a unique film, or for me just a random stranger laughing in a language I can't recognize ......i feel inspired :)
