My aching feet have been craving for something more comfortable than heels. But I refuse to give up on style in exchange for comfort. In my blog wonderings I came across a few alternatives. I love the colorful high tops Nike has come out with this year for women. These obnoxiously loud colors would be so hot with some super black skinnies or my paper, cloth, & denim acid wash jeans..... (sighs) very M.I.A.
I've definitely been digging my short hair lately. I found some inspirational photos of haircuts similar to my length and ones that I might want to get next. Of course I included pictures of some of my favorite people Carrie, Audrey Hepburn, Karla, and Natalie Portman.
Today at Bloomingdale's, I purchased a somewhat short and voluminous new dress for no reason at all. I'm hoping I'll get invited to some formal dance or party where I can wear it to. But if not I'll appreciate just having it in my closet. Sometimes I treat clothes like I treat antiques I just want them, because they're incredibly fabulous or unusual not because they're useful.
My good friend sydney is an amazing singer-songwriter. Her sound is soulful, sweet, and simple. Her new song "Smell of Cinnamon" is something different for the holidays. Her hippiesque style and confidence in her music is encouraging. Whatever I decide to do with my life, I hope I am confident and happy with my choice of career as she is with hers. That's the feeling I get when I listen to her music.
When I find things that inspire me I don't know exactly why they inspire me. Sometimes I'm just inspired to be more of something...it may to be more creative, more rebellious, or more bold. And other times it's an inspiration to be more caring, more independent, more brave. Whatever this overlapping feeling is, I know it as soon as it happens, as soon as I see an excellent photograph, a unique film, or for me just a random stranger laughing in a language I can't recognize ......i feel inspired :)
i can't believe i never noticed how f*cking awesome kanye west's style is. i love his music but man that's exactly how i want my boy to dress. its like a blend of hip hop with indie..and just simply cool. i feel like his style is easy for a lot of different types of boys to achieve too.
it seems like when two fashionistas who share a similar taste for exceptionally beautiful clothes...Great style happens!! i think it's wonderful when friends dress not only for themselves but for each other, sharing in their love for great fashion
here are a few duos that i happen to admire...sienna miller & kiera knightley, blair & serena, chloe sevigny & lesley arfin, erin wasson & alexander wang, and of course me & my friend carolina
