After Earth

“And after the earth dies, some 5 billion years from now, after it’s burned to a crisp, or even swallowed by the Sun, there will be other worlds and stars and galaxies coming into being — and they will know nothing of a place once called Earth.”

Carl Sagan, Pale Blue Dot

“Let all of life be an unfettered howl. Like the crowd greeting the gladiator. Don’t stop to think, don’t interrupt the scream, exhale, release life’s rapture.” - Vladimir Nabokov

In The End

“In the end, only three things matter: how much you loved, how gently you lived, and how gracefully you let go of things not meant for you.”

Buddha

How important are our eyes when we take in a musical performance?

Check out this interview from NPR's Science Friday. Musical performances may not be a completely auditory experience, according to a study published in the Proceedings of the National Academy of Sciences. Study author Chia-Jung Tsay discusses how visual cues can influence our judgments about music and other social settings.

Breathe

“Breathe. It’s okay. You’re going to be okay. Just breathe. Breathe, and remind yourself of all the times in the past you felt this scared. All of the times you felt this anxious and this overwhelmed. All of the times you felt this level of pain. And remind yourself how each time, you made it through. Life has thrown so much at you, and despite how difficult things have been, you’ve survived. Breathe and trust that you can survive this too. Trust that this struggle is part of the process. And trust that as long as you don’t give up and keep pushing forward, no matter how hopeless things seem, you will make it.”

The Code That Makes Us Human

Cheesefoot Head Crop Circle near Winchester, Hampshire. Reported August 9th, 2012.

The crop circle shown here is a representation of the supramolecular structure of the 64 DNA codons of the biological human body. We utilize less than half of our codons currently with only 20 active DNA codings. The coming of the Golden Age, signified by the shift of December 2012, is simply a change of energy from one state into the next. This influx of higher vibrational frequencies from the Universe will potentially result in an activation and awakening of all 64 DNA codons. The 64 connected circles above thus signify the emergence of an evolutionary energy transforming humans into multi-dimensional spiritual beings.

A Lot of People

"My point is, there are a lot of people in the world. No one ever sees everything the same way you do; it just doesn’t happen. So when you find one person who gets a couple of things, especially if they’re important ones… you might as well hold on to them.”

What I Think About Love

“I don’t need love to feel like I’ve given up on trying and will settle for what’s available because I’m exhausted. I need it to feel like we deserve each other because we authentically want each other. And I don’t need love to have this ever-burning fire of emotion. I need it to be sincerely passionate but calming and playful, in a world where so many things can stress you out. I don’t need love to solely prevent a lifetime of aloneness. I need it to feel like a true friend, a true companion, will care for me simply, purely, and as uncomplicatedly as possible.”

The Space

“I am learning every day to allow the space between where I am and where I want to be to inspire me and not terrify me.”

Behind Me

“Nobody has ever seen an electron. Nor a thought. You can’t see a thought, you can’t measure, weigh, nor taste it - but thoughts are the most real things in the Galaxy.” - Robert A. Heinlein, Citizen of the Galaxy

Babies

“Hello, babies. Welcome to Earth. It’s hot in the summer and cold in the winter. It’s round and wet and crowded. On the outside, babies, you’ve got a hundred years here. There’s only one rule that I know of, babies—Goddamnit, you’ve got to be kind.”

Long Overdue

“If you’re a woman, if you’re a person of color, if you’re gay, lesbian, bisexual, transgender, if you’re a person of size, a person of intelligence, a person of integrity, then you’re considered a minority in this world. And it’s going to be really hard to find messages of self-love and support anywhere. It’s all about how you have to look a certain way or else you’re worthless. For us to have self-esteem is truly an act of revolution and our revolution is long overdue.”
